View Larger Lately I’ve started to feel like getting a cat. Sure I can’t do that right now, considering that I live in a house with my cat allergic mom and her three dogs. So I’d have to move into an apartment of my own before I could even consider getting one. Besides, I’d have to think about the commitment and all that jazz.
My motives could also be considered a bit unethical. I want a pet, but I think I couldn’t give a dog all the attention and care it would need, so a cat would be a better pick for me.
Anyway, I know next to nothing about cats. My knowledge goes as far as “the Scottish Folds are the ones that Japanese people make cutesy videos of” and that’s about it. Then my friend told me about the Ragdoll cats and I was instantly charmed. A social cat which is also one of the cutest things ever? Sure the fur could be a bit problematic for a person who has lived with dogs whose fur needs pretty much no attention at all, but I could live with that. For a person who tends to get lonely quite often, a cat like this would be just about perfect.
(I feel somewhat bad about talking of cats as they were objects or products that one can just go out and buy. It makes me feel reckless and emotionless. But I guarantee you that I wouldn’t get one if I wasn’t truly ready for one.)
